Kids Junk Journaling
A calm, creative workshop where children and parents work together to create their own junk journals using collage, drawing, mark-making and found materials.
This artist-led session focuses on creative freedom and self-expression rather than neatness or perfection. Children and parents will explore cutting, sticking, layering and decorating pages, building a personalised journal filled with memories, ideas and personality. Gentle prompts and guidance are provided throughout, but families are encouraged to follow their own interests and work at their own pace.
Families are welcome to bring along personal materials such as tickets, photographs, postcards, wrappers or small paper keepsakes they would like to include in their journal. A wide range of materials will also be provided on the day.
No previous art or journaling experience is needed. The emphasis is on enjoying the process, spending time making together, and creating something meaningful that can be continued at home.
Additional adults & younger siblings
I understand that school holidays can make childcare tricky. Younger siblings are welcome to attend alongside the participating child. While the main workshop is aimed at the booked child and accompanying parent, colouring and quiet activities can be provided to help keep younger siblings occupied.
Other parents or carers are also welcome to attend if needed. Please note that the main journaling activities are designed for the booked child and one accompanying adult.
