What's your thread length?
What’s Your Thread Length? is a large-scale steel sculpture that transforms the familiar form of a lipstick bullet into an industrial, weighty object of contemplation. Rooted in lived experience, the work confronts tensions between femininity and power by juxtaposing a symbol of beauty with the hard, unyielding material of steel. Through this collision of form and material, the piece literalises the imbalance between male sexual aggression and the moral scrutiny directed at women, inviting a dialogue that is at once uncomfortable and absurd.
Crafted from mild steel with a durable finish, this sculpture embodies both strength and contradiction. Its monumental scale and meticulous fabrication reflect a practice informed by feminist theory, self-ethnography, and material experimentation.
